Recently, during routine equipment inspections, Bajun Cutting Tools discovered an abnormally slow flow rate in the factory's circulating drainage pipes. After professional diagnosis by the technical department, it was confirmed that the problem was mainly caused by the accumulation of fine dust generated during metal processing. If this hidden danger is not eliminated in time, it may trigger a series of chain reactions, including pipe blockage, water leakage in equipment areas, and secondary accumulation of metal dust, ultimately adversely affecting the stable operation of precision processing equipment and product process accuracy.

Faced with this unexpected situation, the production department quickly activated the emergency plan and organized a special working group composed of equipment maintenance personnel and production scheduling personnel to handle the situation together. Under the premise of ensuring that the normal production order is not affected, the working group developed a scientific and efficient dual-track parallel plan: a dredging task force of six technical experts was responsible for a comprehensive inspection and cleaning of the 80-meter-long drainage network, while a backup water circulation system was activated, ensuring the continuous supply of production cooling water through temporary pipe connections. This careful deployment avoided possible production interruptions and bought valuable time to thoroughly solve the problem.

During the actual dredging operation, technicians faced many challenges. Nearly one-third of the pipes are located in the narrow space between equipment layers, with an operating height of less than 0.8 meters, forcing workers to remove flanges and operate in a side-lying position. The sediment in the pipes is mainly a dense agglomeration formed by a mixture of tungsten carbide and coolant, with a hardness of up to 4.2 on the Mohs scale, making cleaning extremely difficult. In addition, the entire operation must strictly prevent the explosion risk that may be caused by metal dust. Faced with these difficulties, the maintenance team innovatively adopted an advanced process combining pneumatic crushing and vacuum suction, using professional explosion-proof cleaning equipment to advance section by section. Especially when dealing with the key pipe section under the main production line, technicians cleverly used a self-made arc-shaped scraper in conjunction with an industrial endoscope to achieve precise cleaning without damaging the pipe structure.

Through the team's unremitting efforts, this maintenance work cleaned up about 120 kilograms of various sediments and successfully restored the pipe flow rate to the design standard of 2.5 m/s. Taking this as an opportunity, the technical department further improved relevant management systems, including installing online monitoring devices for pipe flow, improving the coolant filtration accuracy to the 15-micron standard, and establishing long-term guarantee mechanisms such as quarterly preventive cleaning systems.
