Sharpening the Blade of Character: A Thorough, In-Depth Special Campaign


Quality is the lifeline of an enterprise and must be reflected in every single detail.

To continuously improve product qualification rates and strengthen the company’s core competitiveness, the Production Department of Bajun Cutting Tools launched a “Special Action for Quality Improvement” on June 21. Led by Supervisor Liu, a special task force composed of team leaders and quality inspection specialists conducted systematic random inspections and assessments across all stages of alloy saw blade production.

The initiative adopts a “dual-track approach”: On the one hand, in strict accordance with ISO9001 standards, 12 critical processes—including cutting, gear shaping, and heat treatment—are subject to random sampling inspections. On the other hand, the operational status of production equipment and maintenance records are thoroughly reviewed. The technical team is focusing particularly on the precision of CNC gear-grinding machines, using coordinate measuring machines for re-verification to ensure that machining tolerances are controlled within the industry-leading range of ±0.01 mm.

The inspection team employed the five-dimensional analysis method—“people, machines, materials, methods, and environment”—to examine not only equipment parameters and mold wear but also the standardization of operator procedures. In the heat treatment workshop, the team paid close attention to the stability of the temperature-control system and randomly selected batches of products for metallographic analysis, ensuring that the grain size met or exceeded ASTM Grade 8 standards.

This operation specially introduced an “process traceability” component, leveraging the MES system to retrieve recent production data and analyze trends in key quality indicators. In the end, a total of 28 improvement suggestions were generated, of which 15 have already been addressed on-site. The Production Department will establish a long-term tracking mechanism featuring “daily inspections, weekly summaries, and monthly evaluations” to continuously optimize the manufacturing processes.
